I woke up with a smile this morning. I checked my inbox, and saw Portformats new album. Portformat and I are friends, but to see him working on these great songs and improving his skills as a producer is simply wonderful. One of my favorite tunes off of "The Repeat Factor" is "U Gotta Find" feat. Shuanise. Brother, I wish you much success with this great piece of art!

Shooting to Sirius and beyond, the intense and intergalactic slowmotion grooves of Portformat finally hit space! NASA-compatible Hip Hop Funkadelica is what to expect on Portformat's debut album released into orbit, musically combining space themes of the 70s with the golden moments of 90s R'n'B.
R'n'B shooting stars such as Georgia Anne Muldrow, Shuanise and Suzi Analogue shine on Portformat's beats from his Repeat Factory. Rappers such as Madlib-vocalist Dudley Perkins, Blaktroniks, Obey The Altar Native, Bless1, Gajah and Thesaurus Rex also join the ride. The album was even mixed by Comfort Fit for an extra galactic boom!

I started to eat fresh foods, fruits & vegetables awhile ago and I'm already feeling the difference. My strength and fitness has increased. I exercise four days a week. When it gets cold outside, I prefer to go to the gym and go swimming (one superb full body workout). I simply eat less carbs and drink a lot of water (3liters a day) and try (:D) to go earlier to bed. It's hard to do that as an artist. My creativity usually starts around 11pm lol

I used the drum pattern from a previous track which I posted awhile ago. I didn't like the sample but I loved the drums. So today, I chose a few chords, flipped them, and came up with the melody. In addition to this, I also changed the drums and added a hihat at the end of the 4/4 sequence. Since I don't have my studio over here yet(only my laptop with cubase and no mic) I chose to record a few words with my laptop mic lol. It Twas fun and I Hope I can finish the song soon.

Plot : Soul Power is a documentary, directed by Jeffrey Levy-Hinte, about the renowned soul music concert held in 1974 in Kinshasa, Zaire. The concert was organized by noted South African musician South African musician Hugh Masekela and Stewart Levine, who is an American record producer and among the performers were famous musicians like James Brown, Bill Withers, Bill Withers, Celia Cruz and B.B. King, etc. The 12-hour long event which was held across three nights was organized in combination with the unforgettable boxing match between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman which later came to be known as “The Rumble in the Jungle”. Stewart and Hugh had to convince boxing promoter Don King, for the combination of the two events. The artists, who were amongst the top performers in their fields, were inspired to give lifetime performances not only by the fact that this event marked their return to their African origins, but also by the enthusiastic people of Zaire, who came to watch their performances.
